Comments for Oregon Tax Preparers

We frequently hear the question, "How do I best prepare to take the LTC Exam?"  Here is important information students should know:

  • Oregon's LTC Exam has an average pass-rate of just 25%.
  • By comparison, most employees of Pacific Northwest Tax Service pass the LTC exam on their first attempt.  Here's why:
    • Our employees receive extensive on-the-job training,
    • The work product of all our preparers is reviewed and error-checked which means preparers are able to learn from their mistakes.
    • Our employees are exposed to a wide variety of tax clients and encouraged to seek assistance from more experienced personnel.
    • Our high-quality CPE programs give our employees the knowledge they need to pass the LTC exam.
  • Preparers who do not get adequate grounding in basic tax law at work must obtain their education elsewhere.  Depending of the level of on-the-job work experience and the quality of prior education, it may be advisable for a preparer to take Pacific Northwest Tax School's 80-Hour Basic Tax Course before attempting our LTC Prep Series.
  • Pacific Northwest Tax School's LTC Prep Series is a fast-paced, intensive 18-Part Series designed to prepare Licensed Tax Preparers for the LTC exam.  You will benefit most from this program by completing all reading assignments, classwork assignments, homework assignments and quizzes and by participating in all lectures or watching all lecture video recordings.
